A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT TO APPROPRIAT E FUNDS TO WILSON CO UNTY FOR UPGRADES TO 2
VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT. 3
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State 5
Budget and Management the sum of fifteen million dollars ($15,000,000) in nonrecurring funds 6
for the 2026-2027 fiscal year to provide a directed grant to Wilson County to make allocations 7
to fire departments located within the county for (i) upgrading emergency lighting on fire trucks 8
with blue lights that are activated when the vehicle is not in motion for the purpose of increasing 9
visibility and motorist compliance and (ii) other costs f or upkeep, updating, or replacing of fire 10
equipment or vehicle parts. 11
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2026. 12
