A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT FOR THE STATE TO OBSERVE STANDARD TIME THE WHOLE YEAR. 2
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 3
SECTION 1. Chapter 81A of the General Statutes is amended by adding a new 4
Article to read: 5
"Article 8. 6
"Standard Time. 7
"§ 81A-100. Designation of time. 8
In accordance with subsection (a) of Section 260a of the Uniform Time Act of 1966 (15 9
U.S.C. §§ 260-267) the State and its political subdivisions shall observe standard time at all times 10
throughout the year." 11
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective March 8, 2026. 12
