A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS TO CROSSNORE COMMUNITIES FOR CHILDREN 2
FOR FOSTER CARE SERVICES. 3
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State 5
Budget and Management the nonrecurring sum of five million dollars ($5,000,000) for the 6
2025-2026 fiscal year to provide a directed grant to Crossnore Communities for Children, a 7
nonprofit organization, to provide services that are designed to address the foster care crisis in 8
this State, including the Promise for Hope Campaign, the Center for Trauma Resilient 9
Communities, the Bridging Families program, youth independent living, foster car e, family 10
reunification and preservation services, and community engagement. All services supported 11
through these funds shall be open to children from across North Carolina and shall be offered in 12
and delivered from Winston -Salem, Crossnore, and Hendersonv ille through Crossnore 13
Communities for Children. 14
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2025. 15
