A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF PINEVILLE TO AUTH ORIZE 2
RESERVE POLICE AND T HEIR COMPENSATION WH EN CALLED INTO ACTIV E 3
DUTY. 4
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 5
SECTION 1. The Charter of the Town of Pineville, being Chapter 296 of the Session 6
Laws of 1965, as amended, is amended by adding a new section to read: 7
"Sec. 17.A. Reserve Police D ivision. In addition to any auxiliary police d epartment 8
established pursuant to G.S. 160A-282, the town may establish a reserve police division who se 9
officers may be compensated for any active duty time. The town council shall fix the amount of 10
compensation for officers in the reserve police division and cause the compensation to be paid." 11
SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law. 12
