A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT TO APPROPRIAT E FUNDS TO GUILFORD COUNTY SCHOOLS FOR H IGH 2
DOSAGE TUTORING AND LEARNING HUBS. 3
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of 5
Public Instruction for the 2025-2026 fiscal year the sum of eight million three hundred thousand 6
dollars ($8,300,000) in nonrecurring funds to be allocated as a directed grant to Guilford County 7
Schools to support academic support programs as follows: 8
(1) Five million dollars ($5,000,000) to support the high dosage tutoring program 9
by hiring more tutors, expanding tutoring subject areas, and offering more 10
tutoring sessions. 11
(2) Three million three hundred thousand dollars ($3,300,000) to support the 12
learning hub program by providing students that are at risk of not graduating 13
a flexible, individualized program to complete graduation requirements and 14
increase graduation rates. 15
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2025. 16
