A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT TO APPROPRIAT E FUNDS TO THE DEPAR TMENT OF PUBLIC SAFE TY TO 2
ESTABLISH A GRANT PROGRAM TO TREAT POLICE OFFICERS WHO HAVE BEEN 3
DIAGNOSED WITH POSTTRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER (PTSD). 4
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 5
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of 6
Public Safety the sum of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 7
2025-2026 fiscal year to assist the Department in establishing a grant program to t reat police 8
officers who have been diagnosed with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). 9
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2025. 10
