A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN 2
SERVICES, DIVISION O F CENTRAL MANAGEMENT AND SUPPORT, OFFICE OF 3
RURAL HEALTH, TO PRO VIDE COMMUNITY HEALT H GRANT SUPPORT TO 4
MECKLENBURG COUNTY. 5
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 6
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of 7
Health and Human Services, Division of Central Management and Support, Office of Rural 8
Health, the sum of one million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) in nonrecurring funds 9
for the 2025-2026 fiscal year to be allocated as a directed grant to support the operations of Care 10
Ring, Inc., a nonprofit community health clinic located in Mecklenburg County that provides 11
primary care services to medically vulnerable residents who would otherwise be unable to receive 12
needed primary care services due to geographic, economic, or other barriers. 13
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2025. 14
