A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT TO APPROPRIAT E FUNDS FOR THE COLL EGE OF ENGINEERING A ND 2
TECHNOLOGY AT EAST CAROLINA UNIVERSITY. 3
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4
SECTION 1.(a) There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Board of 5
Governors of The University of North Carolina the sum of twenty -five million dollars 6
($25,000,000) in nonrecurring funds to be allocated to East Carolina University for the College 7
of Engineering and Technology. These funds shall be used at the College for improvements to 8
buildings and to purchase and refurbish equipment. 9
SECTION 1.(b) There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Board of 10
Governors of The University of North Carolina the s um of four million dollars ($4,000,000) in 11
recurring funds for each year of the 2025 -2027 fiscal biennium to be allocated to East Carolina 12
University to expand positions at the College of Engineering and Technology. 13
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2025. 14
