A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE MECKLENBURG COUNCIL OF 2
ELDERS. 3
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State 5
Budget and Management the sum of seventy -five thousand dollars ($75,000) in nonrecurring 6
funds for the 2025-2026 fiscal year to provide a directed grant to Mecklenburg Council of Elders, 7
Inc., a nonprofit organization, to support the organization in providing services to residents of 8
Mecklenburg County through seminars and events designed to raise awareness of their rights and 9
options as citizens regardless of their past involvement with t he law and to assist with their 10
Juvenile Court Intervention program. 11
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2025. 12
