AN ACT TO APPROPRIAT E FUNDS TO THE DEPAR TMENT OF PUBLIC SAFE TY, 2
DIVISION OF EMERGENC Y MANAGEMENT, FOR TH E COMMUNITY 3
EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM. 4
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 5
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of 6
Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management, the sum of three million dollars 7
($3,000,000) in recurring funds for the 2025 -2026 fiscal year to expand and promote the 8
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program and training. The Division shall also 9
use a portion of these funds to establish a new program or expand an existing program to work 10
with local community organizations to conduct training sessions and to develop outreach 11
strategies to encourage community participation in these training programs. 12
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2025. 13
