GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF NORTH CAROLINA SESSION 2025 S 1 SENATE BILL 340 Short Title: Funds for Pittsboro Fire Services. (Public) Sponsors: Senator Murdock (Primary Sponsor). Referred to: Rules and Operations of the Senate March 20, 2025 *S340-v-1* A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1 AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR EMERGENCY FIRE SERVICES IN THE TOWN 2 OF PITTSBORO. 3 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4 SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State 5 Budget and Management the sum of ten million dollars ($10,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for 6 the 2025-2026 fiscal year to provide a directed grant to the Town of Pittsboro to enhance its 7 emergency fire services. These funds shall be used as follows: 8 (1) Seven million dollars ($7,000,000) for the construction of a new fire station. 9 (2) One million eight hundred thousand dollars ($1,800,000) for a new ladder 10 truck. 11 (3) One million two hundre d thousand dollars ($1,200,0000) for a new fire 12 engine. 13 SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2025. 14
