AN ACT TO MODIFY THE DUTIES OF THE NORTH EASTERN WORKFORCE 2
DEVELOPMENT BOARD. 3
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4
SECTION 1. This act applies to the Northeastern Workforce Development Board 5
serving Dare, Currituck, Camden, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Chowan, Gates, Hyde, Tyrrell, and 6
Washington Counties only. 7
SECTION 2. G.S. 143B-438.11 reads as rewritten: 8
"§ 143B-438.11. Local Workforce Development Boards. 9
(a) Duties. – Local Workforce Development Boards shall have the following powers and 10
duties: 11

(7a) To designate through a competitive selection process, designate, by no later 13
than July 1, 2014, and annually thereafter, the p roviders of adult and 14
dislocated worker services authorized in the Workforce Innovation and 15
Opportunity Act. 16
