A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS TO THE TOWN OF WENDELL TO STABILIZE THE 2
OLD CARVER SCHOOL. 3
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State 5
Budget and Management the sum of two million dollars ($2,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for 6
the 2025 -2026 fiscal year to provide a directed grant to the Town of Wendell to provide 7
community engagement, development of construction drawings, and stabilization of the old 8
Carver School owned by Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in partnership with Pleasant Grove CDC 9
and Wake County. The project includes the rehabilitation of the site into a compre hensive 10
community center, including a business incubator, technology center, gymnasium, performance 11
space, and classrooms. 12
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2025. 13
