AN ACT TO ENSURE VIT AL FOOD SECURITY AND YOUTH PROGRAMS CONTINUE 2
TO RECEIVE STATE FUN DING REGARDLESS OF P ASSAGE OF THE ANNUAL 3
BUDGET. 4
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 5
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State 6
Budget and Management the sum of six million dollars ($6,000,000) in recurring funds beginning 7
in the 2026 -2027 fiscal year to be used to address root causes of food insecurity by providi ng 8
directed grants in equal amounts to the following six nonprofit corporations: 9
(1) Food Bank of the Albemarle. 10
(2) Manna Food Bank, Inc. 11
(3) Action Pathways, Inc. 12
(4) Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, Inc. 13
(5) Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, Inc. 14
(6) Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, Inc. 15
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2026. 16
