A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Battery B, 1st Battalion, 134th Field Artillery Regiment on its One
Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Battery B, 1st
Battalion, 134th Field Artillery Regiment on One Hundred Fifty years
of outstanding service to the United States of America; and

WHEREAS,
A unit of the Ohio Army National Guard based out of Piqua, Battery B,
1st Battalion, 134th Field Artillery Regiment has never failed to
represent the principles and honor of our nation, and we are proud to
celebrate its Sesquicentennial. Since its organization in Gettysburg,
Ohio, in 1875, the unit has been deployed across the world, and it
has always carried our flag with dignity, respect, and courage; and

WHEREAS,
The National Guard has long stood as one of the country’s first
responses for both domestic and foreign events, and the many fine
individuals who have comprised Battery B, 1st Battalion, 134th Field
Artillery Regiment over the past one hundred fifty years are
deserving of the highest praise for their dynamic efforts in service
to our society. Truly, they have all distinguished themselves as
conscientious, devout Ohioans; and

WHEREAS,
The heroic traditions of our nation’s armed forces are an important
part of our American heritage. Giving freely of their time, energy,
and abilities far beyond what was required or expected, the members
of Battery B, 1st Battalion, 134th Field Artillery Regiment have
gained the appreciation, admiration, and gratitude of Americans
everywhere. Indeed, the Ohioans who have represented this unit, both
past and present, have had the satisfaction of knowing they have
provided a valuable service to our country and established a record
of achievement worthy of emulation; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, celebrate
Battery B, 1st Battalion, 134th Field Artillery Regiment on its
Sesquicentennial and look to its future with great optimism; and be
it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Battery B, 1st Battalion,
134th Field Artillery Regiment.
