A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring
Don Jones for his exemplary service to the Ohio House of
Representatives.
WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize Don Jones for his
outstanding four-term tenure as a member of the Ohio House of
Representatives; and
WHEREAS,
Don Jones is deserving of high praise for his dedicated service to
the 95th House District. An able steward to the State of Ohio, he
brought a wealth of experience to his post through his endeavors as
an agricultural education teacher and FFA Advisor at Harrison Central
High School, an employee of D&J Sales and Services, Inc., and a
volunteer fireman and emergency medical technician with the
Deersville Community Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Squad,
the chairman of the South Central Power Foundation Board, and a
member of such organizations as the Harrison County Agricultural
Society, Soil and Water Conservation District, and Farm Bureau
boards. Indeed, he is a staunch supporter of the well-being of his
constituency and has sponsored into law various bills in wide-ranging
areas of interest; and
WHEREAS,
Don Jones is an effectual ambassador for communities throughout
Harrison, Noble, and Morgan counties, as well as portions of Belmont,
Guernsey, and Athens counties, and he has combined civic concern and
commitment with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader.
Previously serving as the majority whip under Speaker Robert Cupp, he
has been active as the chair of the Natural Resources and Agriculture
committees and a member of the Education (K-12) and Finance
committees, and his sincerity and integrity have distinguished him as
a conscientious and hard-working Ohioan; and
WHEREAS,
Don Jones has been characterized by his ambition and expertise, and
he has earned not only the respect of those with whom he has worked
but also the gratitude of the citizens he has so capably represented.
As he reflects on his career with the Ohio House of Representatives,
he has the satisfaction of knowing that he has established a record
of personal and professional excellence that will stand as a hallmark
for others in public service to emulate; therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Don
Jones as an esteemed Ohio Representative and extend best wishes for
happiness and fulfillment in the years to come; and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Don Jones.
