A R E S O L U T I O N

In
memory of Deputy Larry Ray Henderson, Jr.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio send our deepest sympathy to the family and friends
of Deputy Larry Ray Henderson, Jr., on the sorrowful occasion of his
death; and

WHEREAS,
Although there are no words to ease the sorrow now felt, surely there
is solace in the remembrance of having known such an outstanding
individual as Larry Henderson. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he
joined the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office as a corrections
officer in 1991, and over the course of his thirty-three-year career
in law enforcement, he gained widespread respect for his work in such
diverse roles as a hazardous material technician, a member of the
dive, SWAT, and bomb detection teams, a deputy United States marshal
with the Federal Bureau of Investigation Joint Terrorism Task Force,
and a DARE and academy instructor. Despite retiring in 2024, he
continued to volunteer as a special deputy, and in all of his
endeavors, he fulfilled his responsibilities with integrity,
sensitivity, and the utmost competence. He was highly esteemed by his
peers, and his valiant efforts to safeguard his community were truly
admirable; and

WHEREAS,
Larry Henderson was an unforgettable man whose words and actions
endeared him to everyone who loved him, including his wife, Lorena,
his children, Larry, Alex, Taylor, Riley, and Adrianna, and his
grandchildren, Maverick, Parker, Logan, and Rowan. Through his
dedicated endeavors, he earned the enduring praise of his peers and
the community he so ably served. He was a fine ambassador for his
chosen vocation, and his numerous contributions will be remembered
with pride and appreciation; and

WHEREAS,
Larry Henderson’s selfless commitment to the welfare of others
distinguished him as an exemplary human being and a leading citizen,
and he gave of his time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was
required or expected. It is our sincere hope that his memory will be
a source of comfort to those who cherished him; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, express a
profound sense of loss and sincere regret at the death of Deputy
Larry Ray Henderson, Jr., and, in so doing, pay tribute to his
memory; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of Deputy Larry
Ray Henderson, Jr.
