A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring
Holmes County on its Two Hundredth Anniversary.
WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Holmes County on the
auspicious occasion of its Bicentennial; and
WHEREAS,
This is a momentous event, and it provides an ideal time to
acknowledge the exceptional achievements of Holmes County. This
exemplary group of communities can be proud of the area’s history,
which reflects impressive development over multiple generations, and
it has truly gained a well‑deserved reputation as one of Ohio’s
finest regions; and
WHEREAS,
In the centuries since Holmes County was founded, its generous and
civic-minded population has thrived. Indeed, those who currently live
and work in the area can take great pride in their rich heritage, for
their noteworthy initiative and vision have had a profound impact. We
applaud the county’s residents for their commitment to the
well-being of their respective communities, for they have set an
example of concerned and responsible citizenship worthy of emulation;
and
WHEREAS,
Every state’s survival and stability depends upon vibrant and
durable communities, and two hundred years after Holmes County was
founded, it continues to radiate a vitality, optimism, and perpetual
charm all its own. This is certainly a place of many engaging
qualities, and its schools, businesses, and civic organizations have
embodied and upheld the values that are fundamental to Ohio’s
success; therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Holmes
County on the commemoration of its Two Hundredth Anniversary and
offer our best wishes for a prosperous future; and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Holmes County.
