A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Kaitlyn Carr as a 2025 Division III State Champion in track and
field.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Kaitlyn Carr on placing
first in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs at the 2025 Division III
State Track and Field Meet; and

WHEREAS,
Kaitlyn Carr’s accomplishments are truly noteworthy, for she has
clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her
mental and physical fortitude. A standout member of the Smithville
High School girls track and field team, she has exemplified all of
the characteristics which are essential for success both in and out
of the sports world, including courage, integrity, and an innate
sense of the principles of good sportsmanship, and at this year’s
Division III State Track and Field Meet, she secured first place in
the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs with times of 4:49.44 and 10:48.87,
respectively, winning the 1,600-meter title for a second consecutive
year and setting a school record in that event; and

WHEREAS,
By developing such remarkable prowess as a runner, Kaitlyn Carr has
earned the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of
countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals.
Her outstanding record of achievement stands as a hallmark worthy of
emulation, and she has inspired many individuals to excel in numerous
areas of endeavor; and

WHEREAS,
Running is an event which requires exceptional stamina and natural
ability, and Kaitlyn Carr is to be commended for her commitment to
this demanding activity. In attaining her athletic goals, she has
certainly distinguished herself as a true champion, and her
contributions to the Smithville athletic program are sure to be
fondly recalled for many years to come; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud
Kaitlyn Carr on her state championships and salute her as a fine
Ohioan; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Kaitlyn Carr.
