A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Hocking County Courthouse on its Centennial.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Hocking County
Courthouse on its One Hundredth Anniversary, celebrated at a
re‑dedication event, June 23, 2025; and

WHEREAS,
Recognition of this prestigious milestone is a fitting tribute to the
Hocking County Courthouse, for it has long stood as a piece of the
area’s unique story. Dedicated in 1925, the courthouse has become a
beloved pillar of its community and the centerpiece of the City of
Logan and Hocking County; and

WHEREAS,
The Hocking County Courthouse has justly served as the physical
embodiment of the area’s commitment to law and order. Its
anniversary is a tremendous source of pride and an excellent
reflection not only on the building itself but also on all those who
have sustained it and who have given tirelessly of their time,
energy, and support to this part of Ohio’s history; and

WHEREAS,
The Hocking County Courthouse has certainly become an emblem of the
area’s rich heritage. In this modern era, in which the durability
of goods and traditions is often measured in months and days rather
than in years and decades, it is enlightening to discover that this
venerable structure still stands for future generations as a
testament to past achievements; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the
Hocking County Courthouse on its One Hundredth Anniversary and look
to its future with optimism; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Hocking County
Courthouse.
