A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring
the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden on its Sesquicentennial.
WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Cincinnati Zoo and
Botanical Garden on its One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary; and
WHEREAS,
Recognition of this prestigious milestone is a fitting tribute to the
Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, for it has attained a remarkable
record of service to the area since opening in 1875. Growing from
humble beginnings to become the nationally respected and leading
institution it is today, the zoo has become a beloved part of the
community, and its many outstanding accomplishments are a justifiable
source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on the
institution itself but also on its hard-working staff and volunteers;
and
WHEREAS,
Since its inception, the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden has
witnessed many changes, and it now stands as a testament to the
growth of its facilities and programs over the past century and a
half. We are certain that as this worthy endeavor maintains its
unfaltering dedication to service, it will continue in the tradition
of excellence that has become its hallmark and has enriched the lives
of its visitors; and
WHEREAS,
An occasion such as this is an important milestone that represents
dedication and commitment. For one hundred fifty years, the stewards
of the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden have celebrated the
splendors and wonders of our natural world, and on this special
anniversary, they have accepted the challenge of carrying this
important and beloved work into the future; therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, celebrate the
Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden on its Sesquicentennial and look
to its future with optimism; and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Cincinnati Zoo and
Botanical Garden.
