A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Urban Meyer on his induction into the 2025 College Football Hall of
Fame.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Urban
Meyer on being inducted into the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame;
and

WHEREAS,
As a college football coach, Urban Meyer has demonstrated remarkable
integrity and dedication. A former graduate assistant at The Ohio
State University and assistant at Illinois State, Colorado State, and
Notre Dame universities, he served as the head coach at Bowling Green
University, the University of Utah, the University of Florida, and
The Ohio State University during his two-decade career, compiling an
impressive 187-32 record and guiding his teams to seven conference
and three national championships, and he and many of his players have
won a variety of honors and awards. He went on to coach at the
professional level with the Jacksonville Jaguars for one season, and
he is currently a host and analyst on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff and a
board member of several charitable organizations; and

WHEREAS,
The expertise, guidance, and sound judgment of coaches such as Urban
Meyer are critical to the ultimate success of any athletic endeavor.
Due largely to his tireless efforts, his players have emerged as
winners, both in and out of athletic competition, and he has gained
the genuine appreciation and esteem of many for his fantastic work;
and

WHEREAS,
With athletic competition playing such an important role in the
development of role models for our young people, we are extremely
pleased to pay tribute to Urban Meyer for a job well done. His
outstanding rapport with his players, as well as with his fellow
coaches, has been a vital factor in his accomplishments, and he is
certainly deserving of high praise; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate
Urban Meyer on this tremendous national award and extend best wishes
for the future; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Urban Meyer.
