A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Rod Owens as a 2025 Division II State Champion in wrestling.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Rod Owens on securing
the 2025 Division II State Wrestling Championship title in the
175-pound weight class; and

WHEREAS,
Rod Owens’ accomplishments are truly noteworthy, for he has clearly
demonstrated his talent and perseverance, as well as his mental and
physical fortitude as a wrestler. As a junior member of the
Archbishop Alter High School wrestling team, he has exemplified all
of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out
of the sports world, including courage, integrity, and an innate
sense of the principles of good sportsmanship, and as a result, he
won first place in the 175-pound weight class at this year’s
Division II State meet; and

WHEREAS,
By developing such remarkable prowess in wrestling, Rod Owens has
earned the appreciation of his fellow athletes, the devotion of
countless fans, and the respect of even his most determined rivals.
Indeed, his outstanding record of achievement is sure to inspire
future generations of Knights; and

WHEREAS,
Wrestling is a sport which requires exceptional stamina and natural
ability, and Rod Owens is to be commended for his commitment to this
demanding activity. In attaining his athletic goals, he has certainly
distinguished himself as a true champion; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, recognize Rod
Owens on his state wrestling championship and honor him as a fine
Ohioan; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Rod Owens.
