A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
FlameGuard on winning first place at the 2025 De La Vega Global
Entrepreneurship Awards.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend FlameGuard on placing first
at the 2025 De La Vega Global Entrepreneurship Awards; and

WHEREAS,
The De La Vega Global Entrepreneurship Awards recognize the
innovative spirit of young entrepreneurs from around the world, and
this prestigious distinction is a fitting tribute to all those
associated with FlameGuard, including Justin Lackey, Joe Lattarulo,
Matt Smith, Zach Ferguson, and Jack Lancy. Indeed, these fine
individuals invested countless hours of time and energy to bring
their business from the concept phase all the way to a
fully-operating enterprise, and they are deserving of high praise;
and

WHEREAS,
A committed group of students and alumni of Jackson Township High
School, the founders of FlameGuard were inspired by a recent tragedy
to create a fire prevention business that could give back to the
community, and they worked diligently to meet every challenge and
overcome any obstacles they encountered. In the process, they secured
the Junior Achievement USA Company of the Year Award at the 2024
National Student Leadership Summit before advancing to this year’s
De La Vega Global Entrepreneurship Awards, where they received the
highest honors, and their accomplishments are a justifiable source of
pride and an excellent reflection not only on them but also on the
many teachers and supporters that have keenly followed them; and

WHEREAS,
The success of FlameGuard convincingly demonstrates how very much can
be accomplished by a group of conscientious people with clear
objectives and firm resolve, and it is through the work of citizens
such as these that Ohio continues to be a pleasant place in which to
live. To their credit, these young men have set a tremendous example
for other entrepreneurs in our country, and it is not surprising that
their achievements have earned them a host of admirers; therefore be
it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud
FlameGuard on its outstanding performance at the 2025 De La Vega
Global Entrepreneurship Awards and wish it a bright, rewarding
future; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to FlameGuard.
