A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
LaPorte United Methodist Church on its Two Hundredth Anniversary.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate LaPorte United Methodist
Church on the auspicious occasion of its Bicentennial; and

WHEREAS,
Recognition of this significant milestone is a fitting tribute to
LaPorte United Methodist Church, for over the past two centuries, it
has attained a praiseworthy record of service. The achievements of
this fine house of worship are a justifiable source of pride and an
excellent reflection not only on the church itself but also on its
devoted leaders and members; and

WHEREAS,
The source of many social, religious, and humanitarian projects and
programs, LaPorte United Methodist Church has contributed
significantly to the area since its inception in 1825, and its
generous contributions have gained it the appreciation and esteem of
the entire community. We are certain that in the years to come, the
church will maintain the tradition of spiritual enlightenment that
has long been its hallmark; and

WHEREAS,
The members of LaPorte United Methodist Church have long been
actively involved in, and concerned about, local events, and this
celebration offers them a unique opportunity to share their memories
and to reflect on the benefits of life in their close-knit community.
The congregation can, indeed, be proud of their church, for they have
built on the best traditions of the past to ensure a peaceful and
robust future; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend
LaPorte United Methodist Church on its Two Hundredth Anniversary and
extend best wishes for continued growth and prosperity; and be it
further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to LaPorte United Methodist
Church.
