A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown on the Centennial of its
building.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Unitarian Universalist
Church of Youngstown on the auspicious occasion of the One Hundredth
Anniversary of its building, celebrated October 18, 2025; and

WHEREAS,
Recognition of this significant milestone is a fitting tribute to
Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown, for it has attained a
praiseworthy record of service over the years. Founded as First
Unitarian Church of Youngstown in 1892, this fine house of worship
constructed its current building in 1925, adding an education wing in
1969, and its achievements are a justifiable source of pride and an
excellent reflection not only on the church itself but also on its
devoted leaders and members and on the Youngstown community; and

WHEREAS,
The source of many social, religious, and humanitarian projects and
programs, Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown has enhanced
the quality of life in the area since its inception, and its generous
contributions have earned it the gratitude and respect of the many
citizens it has so capably served. We are certain that in the years
to come, the church will maintain the tradition of spiritual
enlightenment that has long been its hallmark; and

WHEREAS,
The members of Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown have long
been actively involved in, and concerned about, the events in their
community, and this celebration offers them a unique opportunity to
share their memories and to reflect on the benefits of life in their
close-knit community. The congregation can, indeed, be proud of their
church, for they have built on the best traditions of the past to
ensure a peaceful and robust future; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend
Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown on the One Hundredth
Anniversary of its building and extend best wishes for continued
growth and prosperity; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Unitarian Universalist
Church of Youngstown.
