A R E S O L U T I O N

In
memory of Trooper Nicholas P. Cayton.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio offer our profound reverence to the family and
friends of Trooper Nicholas P. Cayton on the sorrowful occasion of
his death; and

WHEREAS,
Nick Cayton will long be regarded as a remarkable individual who
contributed a great deal to his community and state. A proud veteran
of the Ohio Army National Guard, he joined the Ohio State Highway
Patrol as a trooper in 2012, and he served at the Lisbon Post before
transferring to the Canfield Post. In addition, he was a bagpiper for
the Steel Valley Pipes and Drums and OSHP and a youth football coach.
Indeed, he led an exemplary life, manifesting those virtues we all
seek to emulate, and he will be remembered for his generosity,
talents, and seemingly inexhaustible energy; and

WHEREAS,
Nick Cayton displayed exceptional civic concern and insight, and his
exemplary efforts will certainly live beyond him. The warmth and
understanding he so readily extended to others, including his wife,
Lynsey, and his children, Turner and Romy, will stand as a testament
to his personal character, and his memory will remain forever in the
hearts of all who knew him; and

WHEREAS,
The devotion to duty that Nick Cayton showed in all of his endeavors
earned him the genuine respect and gratitude of his colleagues and of
the community he so capably served. Although there are no words to
ease the sadness you are feeling, there is solace in remembering the
outstanding life that touched so many; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, express a deep
sense of loss and sincere regret at the death of Trooper Nicholas P.
Cayton; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of Trooper
Nicholas P. Cayton.
