A R E S O L U T I O N
Recognizing
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Awareness Month in Ohio, November
2025.
WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize November 2025 as Complex
Regional Pain Syndrome Awareness Month in Ohio; and
WHEREAS,
Also known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy, complex regional pain
syndrome is a nerve disorder characterized by chronic, severe pain,
usually in a limb, that seems disproportionate to the triggering
event or injury. In an effort to call attention to this condition and
those affected by it as well as to promote continued research,
November has been designated as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome
Awareness Month, highlighted by Color the World Orange Day on the
first Monday of the month; and
WHEREAS,
Symptoms of complex regional pain syndrome can include changes in
skin temperature or color, changes in hair or nail growth, sweating,
swelling, joint stiffness, and extreme sensitivity to stimuli, and
while the causes of CRPS are not fully understood, no single test can
confirm its presence. Treatment is most effective when started early,
with a variety of options that can reduce and relieve symptoms; and
WHEREAS,
Although there is presently no cure, individuals with complex
regional pain syndrome can experience a gradual improvement of their
condition, with full recovery being possible. Consequently, public
understanding, support, and encouragement can go a long way in
improving the quality of life for victims, families, and caregivers
and bring hope for the future; therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, recognize
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Awareness Month in Ohio, November
2025; and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit duly
authenticated copies of this Resolution to the news media of Ohio.
