A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Alexandra Martinez as Ms. Wheelchair Ohio 2025.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to
Alexandra Martinez on being selected as Ms. Wheelchair Ohio 2025; and

WHEREAS,
Alexandra Martinez is, indeed, a remarkable individual, combining
concern and commitment with selfless initiative to become a dynamic
advocate for a more inclusive Ohio. A secretary for a local community
center, a powerlifter, and an advocate for disability rights through
Youth Challenge, she has also dedicated countless hours and seemingly
inexhaustible energy to promote the therapeutic benefits of dance for
disabled people through her choreographing, teaching, and performing
with the Cleveland Dance Project and creating online content, and she
has willingly given of her time, abilities, and enthusiasm to spread
messages of self-acceptance and equality; and

WHEREAS,
Alexandra Martinez is known throughout the Greater Cleveland area as
an exceptionally determined and resilient woman, and she has
demonstrated commendable devotion and social concern in all her
efforts. In addition, she received the Ms. Wheelchair USA Spotlight
Award at the national competition this year, and she has earned the
respect and gratitude of all those who have come to know her. Indeed,
her superlative work is the hallmark of genuine and responsible
citizenship and demonstrates the potential of individuals to have a
positive effect on the quality of life in our society; and

WHEREAS,
It is through the unsurpassed efforts and unparalleled commitment of
people such as Alexandra Martinez that our nation continues to grow
and prosper and our state remains responsive to the needs of its
citizens. She has earned a well-deserved reputation as a generous and
civic-minded person, and she is deserving of the highest praise for
her concerted endeavors; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate
Alexandra Martinez on being named this year’s Ms. Wheelchair Ohio
and offer best wishes for the future; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Alexandra Martinez.
