A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Cardington Volunteer Fire Department on its Sesquicentennial.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the
Cardington Volunteer Fire Department on the memorable occasion of its
One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary, celebrated September 7, 2024; and

WHEREAS,
All those associated with the Cardington Volunteer Fire Department
have played a valuable role in community safety. Willingly giving of
their time, energy, and abilities far beyond what is required or
expected, these fine individuals have fulfilled their
responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and effectiveness, and
their professionalism, positive work attitude, and cooperation with
the public have earned them the esteem and appreciation of the
citizens they have so ably protected; and

WHEREAS,
The Cardington Volunteer Fire Department is truly deserving of high
praise, for since it was established in 1874, it has set a fine
example of professional deportment and proactive engagement with the
community. We are pleased to note that it is through the efforts of
organizations such as this that our state continues to grow and
prosper and remains responsive to the diverse needs of its residents;
and

WHEREAS,
Countless citizens in the community owe their safety, and some their
very lives, to the members of the Cardington Volunteer Fire
Department. Indeed, these exemplary first responders have displayed
an unwavering dedication to excellence, facing each situation with
tremendous courage and presence of mind, and those individuals
pursuing a career in the fire service could find no better example to
emulate; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the
Cardington Volunteer Fire Department on its Sesquicentennial and
offer best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Cardington Volunteer
Fire Department.
