A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Katie Moon on winning a 2025 World Athletics Championships gold
medal.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Katie
Moon as the women’s pole vault champion at the 2025 World Athletics
Championships; and

WHEREAS,
Katie Moon’s accomplishments are truly noteworthy, for she has
clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her
mental and physical fortitude as a track and field athlete. As a
member of Team USA, she won first place in the pole vault with a
height of 4.90 meters at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in
Tokyo, Japan, becoming the first woman to win three consecutive gold
medals in the event. Indeed, she has exemplified all of the
characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the
sports world, including courage, integrity, and an innate sense of
the principles of good sportsmanship; and

WHEREAS,
By developing such remarkable mastery in track and field, Katie Moon
has earned the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of
countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals.
Her outstanding record of achievement stands as a hallmark worthy of
emulation, and she has inspired many individuals to excel in numerous
areas of endeavor; and

WHEREAS,
Track and field is a sport which requires exceptional stamina and
natural ability, and Katie Moon is to be commended for her
commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining her athletic
goals, she has certainly distinguished herself as a true champion;
therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate
Katie Moon on her 2025 world championship and wish her all the best
in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Katie Moon.
