A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Minerva High School girls cross country team as the 2024 Division
II State Champion.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Minerva High School
girls cross country team on winning the 2024 Division II State
Championship; and

WHEREAS,
A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the Minerva High
School girls cross country team have established themselves as truly
exceptional competitors by combining talent and spirit with the
highest ideals of good sportsmanship. With admirable dedication,
Annabelle Crissman, Kayla Crissman, Hannah Ison, Katie Ison, Makenzie
Beavers, Gabby Lupshu, and Tateum Richard have worked diligently
toward attaining ultimate proficiency in cross country, and as a
result, the Lions won the Division II state crown for the second
consecutive year and the third time in four years; and

WHEREAS,
The achievements and leadership of the Minerva High School girls
cross country team are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent
reflection on these long-distance runners, their families, their
school community, and their head coach, Olivia Scott. Indeed, in
leading the team to victory, Coach Scott has helped these athletes to
develop great talent by instilling the valuable lessons of
determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and

WHEREAS,
With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total
education of our young people, we are pleased to pay tribute to the
exemplary athletes and the outstanding coaches of the Minerva High
School girls cross country team for a job well done. The maturity and
experience the team members have gained through their participation
in sports will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the
future; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the
Minerva High School girls cross country team on its tremendous 2024
season and salute the members and coaches as some of Ohio’s finest
citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Minerva High School
girls cross country team.
