friends of Captain Curtis J. Angst on the sorrowful occasion of his
death; and

WHEREAS,
Although there are no words to ease the sorrow now felt, surely there
is solace in the remembrance of having known such an outstanding
individual as Curtis Angst. A member of the Ohio Air National Guard,
he was serving as a KC-135 pilot with the 166th Air Refueling
Squadron, 121st Air Refueling Wing in support of Operation Epic Fury
when he perished in the line of duty, and his valiant efforts were
truly admirable. His absence will be keenly felt; and

WHEREAS,
The great traditions of our country’s service men and women are an
important chapter of American history, and throughout his service,
Curtis Angst always used his talents to the benefit of others.
Indeed, the laurels of his life stand as a tribute not only to him
but also to those he left behind, and his loved ones can be proud of
the sacrifices he made to ensure freedom and justice for all people;
and

WHEREAS,
Although the void his death has created can never be filled, Curtis
Angst will be remembered for his generosity, his spontaneous nature,
and his ability to uplift those around him. A spirited individual who
lit up every room he walked into, he freely shared his love of
camping, hiking, and the outdoors with his family and friends, and
his selfless nature endeared him to those he loved most, including
his wife, Mary, to whom he was eternally devoted. It is certain that
the world is a richer place for his having been in it, and he will be
sorely missed; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
