A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Madison Henkel as a 2026 OATCCC Indoor State Champion.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Madison Henkel on
winning the 2026 Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches
Indoor State Championship title in the Division II girls long jump;
and

WHEREAS,
Madison Henkel’s outstanding ability and spirited drive, as well as
her quickness and tenacity, have distinguished her as a superior
athlete and an exemplary member of the Shelby High School track and
field team. At this year’s OATCCC Indoor State Championship Meet,
she placed first in the Division II girls long jump with a leap of 18
feet, 10.5 inches, and her tremendous efforts are appreciated by all
those who have witnessed her in action; and

WHEREAS,
Few sports embody the spirit of individual accomplishment more than
track and field, and Madison Henkel has exemplified all the qualities
necessary for excellence in the long jump, including discipline,
agility, conditioning, and focus. Indeed, she has inspired her
teammates, thrilled her fans, gained the respect of her opponents,
and made her coaches and family very proud; and

WHEREAS,
With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total
education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to recognize
Madison Henkel on an exemplary season. Time and again, she has risen
to the occasion, maintaining her morale, composure, and good
sportsmanship, and she has set a fine example that is sure to inspire
future generations of athletes; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate
Madison Henkel on her outstanding performance at the Division II
Indoor State competition and offer best wishes for the future; and be
it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Madison Henkel.
