A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Washington High School boys basketball team on winning the 2026
Division II State Championship.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Washington High School
boys basketball team as the 2026 Division II State Champion; and

WHEREAS,
The members of the Washington High School boys basketball team are
exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be truly
exceptional competitors. To culminate their successful season, the
Tigers conquered a tough Westerville North team by the score of 68-63
to secure this year's Division II State Championship and obtained
their first such crown in program history. The unwavering commitment
of the players and coaches has earned them the esteem of many, and
they are certainly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS,
Coach Josh Hose has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and
dedication in guiding the Washington High School boys basketball team
to victory and a tremendous 27‑1 record, and his skill is
reflected in the squad's outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to
his tireless efforts, the members have distinguished themselves on
the court, and he has received respect and admiration from all who
know him; and

WHEREAS,
In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of
our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the
rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has
become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the
Washington High School boys basketball team have gained discipline
and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives;
therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to
the Washington High School boys basketball team as the 2026 Division
II State Champion and honor all those who contributed to the success
of this fine squad; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Washington High School
boys basketball team.
