A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring
the Strasburg-Franklin High School girls basketball team on securing
the 2026 Division VII State Championship.
WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Strasburg-Franklin High
School girls basketball team as the 2026 Division VII State Champion;
and
WHEREAS,
The members of the Strasburg-Franklin High School girls basketball
team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be
truly exceptional competitors. During the 2025-2026 season, the
Tigers diligently pursued their goal, and as a result, they defeated
their opponents from Russia High School with a score of 38-17 to
secure the Division VII State Championship for the first time in
program history. The unwavering commitment of the players and coaches
has earned them the esteem of many, and they are certainly deserving
of high praise; and
WHEREAS,
Coach Tyler Bates has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and
dedication in guiding the Strasburg-Franklin High School girls
basketball team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad's
outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the
members have distinguished themselves on the court, and he has
received respect and admiration from all who know him; and
WHEREAS,
In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of
our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the
rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has
become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the
Strasburg-Franklin High School girls basketball team have gained
discipline and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of
their lives; therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to
the Strasburg-Franklin High School girls basketball team as the 2026
Division VII State Champion and honor all those who contributed to
the success of this fine squad; and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Strasburg-Franklin High
School girls basketball team.
