A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Avon High School winter guard as a 2026 OIPA State Champion.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Avon High School
winter guard on winning first place in the scholastic A class at the
2026 Ohio Indoor Performance Association State Championship; and

WHEREAS,
The members of the Avon High School winter guard are to be commended
for their remarkable fitness and competitive drive, qualities that
have figured prominently in the squad's impressive performances. To
their credit, these fine young students could always be counted on to
execute even the most demanding routines with agility, precision, and
exuberance, and consequently, they secured first place in the
scholastic A class at this year's Ohio Indoor Performance Association
State Championship; and

WHEREAS,
Under the expert guidance of their mentor, Laurel Mitchell, the
members of the Avon High School winter guard have trained diligently
in order to ensure peak conditioning, and their exceptional prowess
has earned them many admirers. Participation in this activity has
enabled them to learn much about creative expression,
self-discipline, leadership, and commitment, and clearly, the
experience they have acquired is certain to benefit them in the years
to come; and

WHEREAS,
Throughout long hours of practice and competition, the members of the
Avon High School winter guard have consistently demonstrated the
talent, dedication, confidence, and motivation which are the
hallmarks of true champions. The maturity and experience they have
gained through their participation in this year's OIPA State
Championship will undoubtedly assist them in meeting the challenges
of the future; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the
Avon High School winter guard on its exemplary achievements and
extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Avon High School winter
guard.
