A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Sophia Szolosi as a three-time 2026 Division III State Champion in
girls track and field.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Sophia Szolosi on
winning the 2026 Division III State Championship in the 800-meter,
1,600‑meter, and 3,200-meter events; and

WHEREAS,
A senior member of the Athens High School girls track and field team,
Sophia Szolosi has combined talent and competitive spirit with the
highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly
exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked
diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency as a runner, and as
a result, she secured three titles in this year's Division III State
Championship with impressive times of 2:08.82 in the 800-meter,
4:48.45 in the 1,600-meter, and 10:17.47 in the 3,200-meter events;
and

WHEREAS,
Sophia Szolosi's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of
competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection
not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coach, and
the whole of the Bulldogs community. Her unwavering commitment to
excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is
certainly worthy of high praise; and

WHEREAS,
With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total
education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay
tribute to Sophia Szolosi on an exemplary season. Indeed, the
maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in
sports will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future;
therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Sophia
Szolosi on her astounding performance at the 2026 Division III State
Championship and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it
further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Sophia Szolosi.
