Honoring
Madison Henkel as a 2026 Division III State Track and Field Champion.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Madison
Henkel on securing first place in the 2026 Division III State
Championship in the long jump; and

WHEREAS,
Displaying exceptional form, ability, leadership, and dedication as a
senior member of the Shelby High School track and field team, Madison
Henkel has certainly distinguished herself as one of the most
talented athletes in Ohio. At this year's Division III State meet,
she earned first place in the long jump event for the second
consecutive year with a leap of 19 feet, 11.5 inches, breaking the
state meet record; and

WHEREAS,
Throughout the 2025-2026 season, Madison Henkel had prepared
conscientiously in pursuit of the state crown, devoting countless
hours to training and practice in order to ensure peak conditioning.
Clearly, this demanding regimen has paid handsome dividends, for she
has claimed a state title in the long jump event, becoming just the
second Shelby female to win multiple state championships; and

WHEREAS,
Despite sometimes grueling pressure, Madison Henkel has consistently
maintained her composure and morale, exhibiting strength, speed, and
stamina in every challenging encounter. Time and again, she has risen
to the occasion, amply demonstrating her unflagging determination,
and she has set an example for others to emulate; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, honor Madison
Henkel on her tremendous achievement and extend best wishes for the
years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Madison Henkel.
