A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Oakwood High School girls 4x800-meter relay team on placing first
at the 2026 Division III State Meet.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Oakwood High School girls
4x800-meter relay team as the 2026 Division III State Champion; and

WHEREAS,
The Oakwood High School girls 4x800-meter relay team has proven to be
a talented and superbly conditioned squad and has gained the respect
of fans and opponents alike for the spirited and highly motivated
performance of its members. Throughout the season, Katherine Erwin,
Riley Meador, Delaney Cahill, and Kaya Asinjo worked diligently to
improve their skills on the track, and as a result, the group
accomplished their goals, bringing home this year's state
championship with a new school and state record time of 9:07.10; and

WHEREAS,
Known as a driven and determined lineup, the members of the Oakwood
High School girls 4x800-meter relay team have developed into a
remarkably efficient group of runners whose skill is equaled only by
their exemplary display of teamwork. They are a credit not only to
their families and their school but also to the superb leadership of
their coach, Mark Stiver; and

WHEREAS,
The road to victory is a difficult one, requiring ability, endurance,
and a positive attitude on the part of athletes and coaches alike.
The members of the Oakwood High School girls 4x800-meter relay team
have exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for
success both in and out of competition, including courage,
discipline, integrity, and good sportsmanship, and their efforts have
earned them the admiration of all those who have witnessed these
outstanding athletes in action; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute the
Oakwood High School girls 4x800-meter relay team on its 2026 Division
III State Championship and extend best wishes for the years to come;
and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Oakwood High School
girls 4x800-meter relay team.
