A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring
Anthony Bontempo as the 2026 Division II State Champion in the high
jump.
WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Anthony Bontempo on winning
the 2026 Division II State Championship in the high jump; and
WHEREAS,
A diligent and capable individual, Anthony Bontempo is deserving of
recognition for his exemplary accomplishments as a senior member of
the Tallmadge High School boys track and field team. An exceptional
athlete, he won first place in the high jump at this year's Division
II State Meet with a leap of 6 feet, 8 inches, and his notable record
of personal achievement stands as a hallmark for others; and
WHEREAS,
Through his participation in track and field, Anthony Bontempo has
learned important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and
good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to him
throughout his life. Through his outstanding efforts, he has inspired
countless people to excel in various areas of endeavor, and he has
set an example worthy of emulation; and
WHEREAS,
In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and
nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of
individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable
educational tool. With sports contributing to the development of
countless youth, we are delighted to congratulate such a fine athlete
as Anthony Bontempo; therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to
Anthony Bontempo on winning the 2026 Division II State High Jump
Championship and honor him as one of Ohio's finest young citizens;
and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Anthony Bontempo.
