A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Kate Simmons on securing the 2025 Girls Wrestling State Championship
in the 170-pound weight class.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Kate Simmons as a 2025
OHSAA State Wrestling Champion; and

WHEREAS,
Displaying exceptional form, ability, leadership, and dedication
during the 2024‑2025 season, Kate Simmons has certainly
distinguished herself as one of the most talented wrestlers in the
state. A senior member of the Findlay High School girls wrestling
team, she demonstrated her drive and skill by winning the state title
this year, and her outstanding 37-7 record is praiseworthy; and

WHEREAS,
Throughout intense training and preparation, Kate Simmons has
consistently exhibited the talent, integrity, and motivation that are
the hallmarks of a true champion. Indeed, she has inspired her
teammates, thrilled her fans, gained the respect of her opponents,
and made her family, her coaches, and her Trojan community very
proud; and

WHEREAS,
Participation in wrestling has enabled Kate Simmons to learn much
about dedication, self‑discipline, and leadership. Commendably,
she has revealed the skill, strength, and stamina that befit a
standout athlete, and it is no surprise that she has won so many
admirers. The remarkable skill and experience she has shown as a
wrestler will be of great benefit as she forges a bright, promising
future; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate
Kate Simmons as the 2025 State Champion in girls wrestling in the
170-pound weight class and look with optimism to her continued
success; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Kate Simmons.
