A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Laney Oliver as a 2025 OHSAA State Wrestling Champion.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Laney Oliver on
securing the 2025 Girls Wrestling State Championship in the 190-pound
weight class; and

WHEREAS,
A senior at Findlay High School, Laney Oliver has combined talent and
competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to
establish herself as a truly exceptional athlete. A strong
competitor, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate
proficiency in her weight class, and as a result, she overcame a
strong Lakewood opponent to win the state title and finish the season
with a remarkable 34-0 record; and

WHEREAS,
Throughout intense training and preparation, Laney Oliver has
consistently demonstrated the talent, integrity, and motivation that
are the hallmarks of a true champion. Her unwavering commitment to
excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is
certainly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS,
Laney Oliver’s accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of
competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding
reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her
coaches, her school, and her community. Indeed, the same maturity and
experience she has gained through her participation in wrestling will
greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be
it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Laney
Oliver as the 2025 Girls Wrestling State Champion in the 190‑pound
weight class and salute her as a fine Ohio athlete; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Laney Oliver.
