A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring
Ashlynn Brokaw on winning a 2025 State Wrestling Championship.
WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to applaud Ashlynn Brokaw as the 2025
State Wrestling Champion in the 105-pound weight class; and
WHEREAS,
This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Ashlynn Brokaw has
clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her
mental and physical fortitude. As this year’s State Champion in the
105-pound weight class, she holds the special distinction of being
the first champion in program history, and in also winning the
Central District and sectional championships, she has exemplified all
of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out
of the sports world, including courage, determination, and an innate
sense of the principles of good sportsmanship; and
WHEREAS,
In displaying such outstanding prowess as a member of the Mount
Vernon High School wrestling team, Ashlynn Brokaw has earned the
appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans,
and the respect of even her most determined rivals. Competition in
athletics has enabled her to learn much about dedication and
self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge her
exemplary record of achievement; and
WHEREAS,
Wrestling is a sport that requires exceptional strength, stamina, and
natural ability, and Ashlynn Brokaw is to be commended for her
commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining her athletic
goals, she has consistently exhibited the skill and integrity that
are the hallmarks of a true champion; therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate
Ashlynn Brokaw on her personal success and salute her as one of
Ohio’s finest young citizens; and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Ashlynn Brokaw.
