As Adopted by the House 136th General Assembly Regular Session H. R. No. 71 2025-2026 Representatives Oelslager, Thomas, J. A R E S O L U T I O N Honoring WHBC Radio on its Centennial. WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate WHBC Radio on the auspicious occasion of its One Hundredth Anniversary; and WHEREAS, Recognition of this prestigious milestone is, indeed, a fitting tribute to WHBC Radio, for since its establishment, it has provided outstanding broadcast services to the Canton area and has become well-known for its quality programming. Going on the air on March 9, 1925, the station has operated on various frequencies, today finding its home at 1480 AM, and it has always delighted and informed its listeners; and WHEREAS, Throughout the past century, WHBC Radio has provided comprehensive coverage of current events at the local, state, national, and international levels, while maintaining the flexibility necessary to meet the changing needs and interests of area citizens. Entertaining, educational, and informative, this exemplary station has earned the loyalty of a large and diverse audience and has certainly distinguished itself as one of Ohio’s finest radio stations; and WHEREAS, The success of any radio station depends largely on the dedication and hard work of its staff. The expertise and commitment of WHBC Radio’s employees and the astute and insightful leadership of its managers have earned the station the respect and appreciation of the entire community, and we applaud all those associated with WHBC for their integrity, skill, and unwavering devotion to excellence; therefore be it RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend WHBC Radio on its One Hundredth Anniversary and offer best wishes for the future; and be it further RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to WHBC Radio.
