A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
First Baptist Church of Ashtabula on its Bicentennial.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate First Baptist Church of
Ashtabula on the auspicious occasion of its Two Hundredth
Anniversary; and

WHEREAS,
Recognition of this significant milestone is a fitting tribute to
First Baptist Church of Ashtabula, for over the past two centuries,
it has attained a praiseworthy record of service. The achievements of
this fine house of worship are a justifiable source of pride and an
excellent reflection not only on the church itself but also on its
devoted leaders, on its proud members, and on the Ashtabula
community; and

WHEREAS,
The source of many social, religious, and humanitarian projects and
programs, First Baptist Church of Ashtabula has enhanced the quality
of life in the area since its inception in 1825, and its generous
contributions have earned it the gratitude and respect of the many
citizens it has so capably served. We are certain that in the years
to come, the church will maintain the tradition of spiritual
enlightenment that has long been its hallmark; and

WHEREAS,
The members of First Baptist Church of Ashtabula have long been
actively involved in, and concerned about, the events in their
community, and this celebration offers them a unique opportunity to
share their memories and to reflect on the benefits of life in their
close-knit community. The congregation can, indeed, be proud of their
church, for they have built on the best traditions of the past to
ensure a peaceful and robust future; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend First
Baptist Church of Ashtabula on its Two Hundredth Anniversary and
extend best wishes for continued growth and prosperity; and be it
further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to First Baptist Church of
Ashtabula.
