A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Pickerington High School Central girls basketball team on winning
the 2025 Division I State Championship.

WHEREAS,
The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Pickerington High School
Central girls basketball team as the 2025 Division I State Champion;
and

WHEREAS,
The Pickerington High School Central girls basketball team has proven
to be a talented and superbly conditioned squad and has gained the
respect of fans and opponents alike for the spirited and highly
motivated performance of its members. Throughout the season, the
athletes worked diligently to improve their skills on the court, and
as a result, the Tigers accomplished their goals, bringing home this
year’s state championship, their first state crown since 2018 and
eighth such title overall; and

WHEREAS,
Known as a driven and determined team, the Pickerington Central
Tigers have developed into a remarkably efficient group of players
whose skill is equaled only by their exemplary display of teamwork.
They are a credit not only to their families and their school but
also to the superb leadership of their coach, Johnathan Hedgepeth;
and

WHEREAS,
The road to victory is a difficult one, requiring ability, endurance,
and a positive attitude on the part of athletes and coaches alike.
The members of the Pickerington High School Central girls basketball
team have exemplified the characteristics that are essential for
success both in and out of competition, including courage,
discipline, integrity, and good sportsmanship, and their efforts have
earned them the admiration of all those who have witnessed these
outstanding athletes in action; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute the
Pickerington High School Central girls basketball team on its 2025
Division I State Championship and offer best wishes for the years to
come; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Pickerington High School
Central girls basketball team.
