A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Hattie Rose Hobar as a 2025 NWCA Scholar All-American.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to pay tribute to Hattie Rose Hobar on being named a 2025
Scholar All-American by the National Wrestling Coaches Association;
and

WHEREAS,
A standout member of the Baldwin Wallace University women’s
wrestling team, Hattie Rose Hobar is, indeed, deserving of this
tribute, which reflects the hard work that she has invested in her
studies in addition to the time management skills she has utilized to
balance academic accomplishments and extensive extracurricular
activities. Over the course of the 2024-2025 season, she won thirteen
matches while maintaining a 3.80 grade point average and received
NWCA Scholar All-American honors, and her achievements have truly
made her family, friends, and hometown very proud; and

WHEREAS,
By attaining such exceptional prowess both in the classroom and on
the mat, Hattie Rose Hobar has earned the esteem and appreciation of
her classmates, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of
her teachers, coaches, and community. Her involvement in striving to
be the best in both academic and athletic endeavors has enabled her
to learn much about dedication, self-discipline, and leadership, and
we applaud her fantastic efforts; and

WHEREAS,
In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and
nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of
individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable
educational tool. Through her participation in collegiate-level
wrestling, Hattie Rose Hobar has gained experience and insights that
will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her throughout her life;
therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Hattie Rose Hobar on
receiving a 2025 Scholar All-American Award and salute her as one of
Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Hattie Rose Hobar.
