A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the U.S. Marshals Service’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task
Force on its 60,000th arrest.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
proud to commend the U.S. Marshals Service’s Northern Ohio Violent
Fugitive Task Force on the occasion of its 60,000 arrests, March 24,
2025; and

WHEREAS,
Established in 2003, the U.S. Marshals Service’s Northern Ohio
Violent Fugitive Task Force is a collaborative law enforcement effort
between federal, state, and local agencies that has provided a
unified offensive in the pursuit, apprehension, and prosecution of
violent adult fugitives across the northern district of the state.
Formed in direct support of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a nationwide
initiative to reduce gun crime in America, it has expanded to include
125 local police departments and sheriff’s offices, 350 law
enforcement personnel, and numerous outposts, and on March 24,
2025, the U.S. Marshals Service’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive
Task Force was credited with securing its 60,000 arrests. This
notable milestone has provided further proof of the agency’s
dedication to promoting improved law enforcement methods that place
the respect for law and order at a premium; and

WHEREAS,
All those who comprise the U.S. Marshals Service’s Northern Ohio
Violent Fugitive Task Force have made a measurable difference in the
State of Ohio and across the country, and they are deserving of the
highest praise for their expertise and commitment. Indeed, their
invaluable contributions have set a fine example of humanitarian
service, and their selfless endeavors to protect the welfare of their
fellow Ohioans stand as the hallmark of responsible citizenship; and

WHEREAS,
The residents of our state owe their safety to the exemplary efforts
of law enforcement officers such as the members of the U.S. Marshals
Service’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, for these fine
professionals have performed their duties with an unwavering focus on
excellence as well as estimable courage and initiative. Indeed, their
integrity and cooperation have gained them the appreciation and
reverence of many; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the U.S. Marshals
Service’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force on its
allegiance to the welfare of the State of Ohio and salute its members
as fine Ohioans; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the U.S. Marshals Service’s Northern Ohio
Violent Fugitive Task Force.
