A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Cleveland Public Library Main Library on its One Hundredth
Anniversary.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to applaud the Cleveland Public Library Main Library on the
auspicious celebration of its Centennial, May 10, 2025; and

WHEREAS,
Recognition of this prestigious milestone is a fitting tribute to the
Cleveland Public Library Main Library, for throughout its history,
this fine institution has attained a remarkable record of service to
the area. Established in 1925 as the flagship location of the system,
this beloved library has diligently served innumerable people over
the past century, and it is truly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS,
Since its inception, the Cleveland Public Library Main Library has
fostered education, culture, and individual growth by providing a
variety of innovative and beneficial programs and services. As a
focal point for many local activities and a valuable instrument for
community improvement, the library system has earned the respect and
appreciation of countless patrons and has set an example of
excellence that is worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS,
Public libraries play an important role in today’s society, serving
as receptacles of shared knowledge, information, and ideas. They
offer a means of enjoyment, self-advancement, and intellectual
development for all individuals, and as repositories for the best of
our nation’s intellectual endeavors, they are vital to the
preservation of our country’s heritage, principles, and ideals. We
are proud to note that it is through the efforts of institutions such
as the Cleveland Public Library Main Library that our state has
maintained its reputation as a friendly, productive, and pleasant
place in which to live and work; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Cleveland Public
Library Main Library on its One Hundredth Anniversary and extend best
wishes for continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the Cleveland Public Library Main Library.
